RoaringBox is a RoarAudio based digital web-radio and music player ('media center'). It is a small box (the size of a big book) playing your favorit radio station's web stream or music from your USB devices or shared network drives.
RoaringBox is controlled via a web interface. We are plan to provide IR remote support in future versions. The web interface is very much like any other software player.
RoaringBox will automaticly download a list of radio stations and provide it as playlist to you. In Addition you can for example attach USB devices like Sticks and play music from them. They will be added as Playlist as soon as you attach them.
Of cause you can use your RoaringBox as a virtual network soundcard, too. The RoarAudio Daemon is listening publicly and in addition provides EsounD emulation on the network. This enables you for example to send the sound of any local application to your RoaringBox or mirror your mixed local output. In Addition it is possible to mirror RoaringBox's output back to your local soundcard.
RoaringBox also annouce itself via OpenSLP so your clients will autodetect your new RoaringBox without any need to configure them.
The project is currently under very active development. We hope can provide everything untill mid of 2010. In case you are intrested join our mailing list on in Contact page and you will get all news about it!
